An artist probably brightened up his nephew’s day by custom painting God of the war art on a pair of shoes. The impressive artwork would likely win praise among fans even with a more standard mount, but given how unique it is, many envy the recipient of this God of the war art.

God of War: Ragnarok released in 2022 to critical and fan acclaim, serving as a worthy successor to the 2018 God of the war franchise reboot. Artist oXFallenAngelXo shared photos of his creation on the God of the war subreddit, where they quickly racked up praise from viewers in the comments. Fellow fans in the comments expressed how impressed they were with oXFallenAngelXo’s creation and joked that they wished they were their nephew so they could get God of the war shoes of their own. oXFallenAngelXo has already shared other pairs of Vans to which they added artwork, featuring characters from Spider Man and animated my hero academia. oXFallenAngelXo notes that it took them between 10 and 15 hours to complete the God of the war pattern. Some expressed concern that the design was fading or damaged by the unique video game shoes being worn, and suggested that they would not actually wear them in order to protect the design. However, the artist noted that they used an acrylic finisher on the art to help protect it.

These days, fan artists turn to just about every type of medium to express their fondness for their favorite games. Creating art on shoes is just one example, as other fans of various games have made things like stained glass, laser art, or 3D prints of their favorite Pokemon. Great games end up inspiring artists, who in turn create great art for other fans – and sometimes even game developers themselves – to marvel at. A fan suggested that Cory Barlog, who has played a major role in the development of the series since its inception on PlayStation 2, needs to see the God of the war shoes.

God of War: Ragnarok is now available for PS4 and PS5.
