Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Players Frustrated With UI Are Making Their Own

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s user interface design has received many complaints that it’s both cluttered and confusing. Now players create their own revamped designs.

As spotted by GamesRadar, Reddit user InterventX has posted their own mockup of a cleaner interface. It incorporates some elements of the current user interface, such as the top menu bar. However, it emphasizes unique and strong images with a more minimalistic design. It also includes all competitive multiplayer modes on a single screen, allowing players to see all options without needing to scroll. This UI, of course, is just a mockup of a few screens. Developing and programming a new user interface for a game as large and complex as Modern Warfare II will require a dedicated design team.

However, this redesign was well received by the community on Reddit, clearly expressing the need for a new design. Modern Warfare 2 already received a few UI overhauls from the beta at launch, but those changes obviously weren’t enough to keep players happy. According to a report from What If Gaming, Activision plans to make more UI changes in the future, but when or how (or if the report is accurate) is still up in the air.

In other recent Modern Warfare 2 news, the ranked game will arrive in 2023. The sequel also hit $800 million in revenue just three days after launch, breaking multiple records for the wildly successful shooter franchise.
