With its mysterious world filled with trauma, Elden Ring inspires many fans, including one who made a sweet portrayal of NPCs Blaidd and Ranni.
Ring of Elden features a wealth of locations and characters that amply inspire fans around the world, but perhaps none of these characters are more memorable than Ranni and Blaidd, which led an artist to create an awe-inspiring portrait featuring the two characters in one of their most peaceful moments. Fans who met the two mysterious individuals in Ring of Elden know that such moments can never last.
Ranni the Witch is one of the most memorable characters featured in Ring of Elden, both because it enters the story so early and because a comprehensive walkthrough of Ranni’s questline takes the player on a challenging tour of many locations across the land. As players strive to learn more about Ranni, they will inevitably encounter Blaidd, a brave and noble warrior whose fate is inextricably linked with the witch. He has his own questline that features some dark twists thanks to his association with Ranni.
On Reddit, user Eivor-Wolfkissed shared a new piece of artwork that depicts both the towering warrior and the little witch in their moment of rest. This isn’t the first fan art featuring Ranni and Blaidd together in Ring of Elden, and it probably won’t be the last. However, it’s a fresh rendition that features excellent detail and serves as a pleasant reminder of one of the game’s many strengths.
Ranni has also inspired artwork that depicts her without Blaidd as a companion. Earlier this year, some fan art depicted Ranni as a rock star, using all four of his hands to jam a guitar with wild abandon. It has appeared in many mediums, from paint to pixels to aluminum. One creative person even made a portrait that blended his features with those of curvy comic actor Danny DeVito, Philadelphia is always sunny celebrity.
The world created by George RR Martin Ring of Elden clearly has the depth and breadth to continue inspiring fans and their creative endeavours, even months after its release. Even though Martin may never play Ring of Elden, he can be proud of his contribution to one of the most talked about video games in recent years. It’s fun to imagine what fans might do next due to their inspiration and to speculate what content FromSoftware might include in upcoming expansions. In the meantime, fans are almost certainly hard at work on their next artistic rendition of Ranni and Blaidd, or any number of other characters from this dark world. If past efforts are any indication, they are worth seeing.
Ring of Elden is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
