Kate Middleton has just made her debut with a tiara as Princess of Wales.

On Tuesday, the 40-year-old royal sported her first tiara in nearly three years for King Charles’ first state banquet as monarch at Buckingham Palace. The banquet was held to welcome South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to the UK, People reported.

Middleton wore a white cape dress by Jenny Packham with silver embellishments on the shoulders. She paired it with an equally dazzling accessory: the Lover’s Knot tiara.

The headpiece with pearls hanging from diamond knots was also a favorite of Middleton’s late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.

The tiara is over a century old and was originally commissioned from jeweler Garrard by Queen Mary in 1913 or 1914, depending on the court jeweler. It is believed to be a replica of a tiara belonging to Mary’s grandmother, Princess Augusta of Hesse, Duchess of Cambridge.

Middleton also accessorized pearl earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana and a three-row bracelet of pearls and diamonds from Queen Elizabeth II’s jewelry collection.

She completed her look with a yellow ribbon indicating her position in the Royal Family Order and a blue sash signifying her position as Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, the highest rank of chivalry personally awarded by the Queen Elizabeth II to be at her service. .
