Modern Warfare 2 players discover a strange wallrun technique

During a multiplayer session in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, a few players discover an area where their characters can run on walls.

During a regular multiplayer match in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, two players discover a wall where their character can run on it. While wallrunning has been featured in the Call of Duty franchise in the past, especially with the exo suits of Advanced Warfare and the futuristic technology of black ops 3it’s not something that made it into the recent modern warfare 2.

In fact, Infinity Ward’s latest changed the movement system that fans have learned over the last few games in the long-running series. During the Call of Duty During the following presentation, Infinity Ward revealed new mechanics like the ledge grab and the infamous return of the “dolphin dive” mechanic where players running at full speed can hold the crouch button to fully dive to the ground. Now, fans have apparently discovered that another move technique that’s pretty clear wasn’t supposed to be included in the full version.

TikTok user shmooookk posted a new video showing a strange place on the map of Taraq village in modern warfare 2 where players can actually wall run if they approach it from the right angle. As confusing as it was to discover by accident, shmooookk and their teammate continued to test the mechanic by showing ways to chain the wall while running in a slide or the previously mentioned dolphin dive. Again, this is a very limited move and likely no one will dominate a game.

It should be noted that currently this movement technique only works on this particular wall inside Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. While there aren’t many uses and the fights in this spot on the map are quite specific, if used correctly it could be used to land a surprising drop on an unsuspecting enemy player, which gives him zero chance to react. However, using the technique could also be used to fly above the map when the dolphin dives from the wall, causing a character to come out like a helicopter.

While seemingly innocent enough, it’s likely something Infinity Ward will clean up in a future patch. For the moment, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 still has priority issues that the studio is likely targeting first, including those related to game crashes as well as some exploits found within the community. An annoying problem, which should be solved this weekend according to Infinity Ward, concerns a game crashing when modern warfare 2 players attempt to join a group.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
