Just because Halloween is over doesn’t mean Pokemon fans can’t share their passion with a great costume design yet, like one pet owner did when he created a fantastic Houndoom outfit for his dog. Although the puppy does not have the Pokemonit is fiery abilities, it more than makes up for it with an adorable presentation that would likely make any difficult trainer think twice.
The Evil Generation 2 Pokemon is a Dark/Fire-type that excels in Special Attack and Speed, and uses a host of insidious moves, like Nasty Plot. Despite its hellish behavior and a bizarre Pokedex entry, the Pokémon and its previous evolutionary stage, Houndour, have become fan favorites over the years, and Houndoom is even one of the few Pokémon with a mega evolution. When considering why they have achieved such a high status among fans, their obvious resemblance to dogs cannot be ignored.
A Reddit user hammered home the similarities by outfitting his own trusty dog in an amazing DIY Houndoom outfit. User AdAgreeable9126 recently posted a video of his dog sporting the Pokémon’s most distinctive features, including a sharp backstory; rib-like bone formations on the back; and white curved horns. They even managed to get the animal to wear cuff and collar accessories that resemble Houndoom’s features. some anime Pokemon The GIFs surrounding the dog complete the presentation nicely.
When asked what type of dog it was, the user replied that it was a cross between a Doberman and a German Shepherd. Many commentators were quick to point out that the combination of breeds produced a near-perfect template from which to create a Houndoom. From construction to coloring, the resemblance to the Pokemon is uncanny. Although there are a multitude of inventive Pokemon Halloween costumes out there, this dog’s outfit is surely among the most natural cuts.
Appearances in a number of Pokemon games, the long duration Pokemon anime, manga and more, Houndoom has certainly left its mark on the fan community. Although he never reached the heights of Pokemon like Pikachu or Lucario, Houndoom managed to capture the hearts of many fans and inspired a wide variety of art. After all, people love dogs in video games, and the Pokemon’s stamina can largely be tied to the fact that it strongly resembles man’s best friend, although its demonic looks also give it a few extra points.
With Houndoom confirmed to appear in the next Pokemon scarlet and violet, there may be more fan creations on the way, inspired by the new iteration. And with the game releasing on November 18, the wait might not be long.
