World Cup stats: Frenchman Olivier Giroud joins Golden Boot conversation and makes history

The 2022 World Cup is on and we already have four players with at least two goals to warm up the Golden Boot race. The latest to score a brace is France’s Olivier Giroud — who equaled Thierry Henry with the most goals ever wearing the iconic Les Bleus shirt with 51 — in a 4-1 win against Australia in the opening game of the group stage.
